Doriane Pin, Significant progress in the French Junior Championship
The only female driver in the 2017 French Junior Championship highlights the detection and training formula of the FFSA Academy. In the Minime category, Doriane Pin had the ambition to challenge a field of highly motivated boys, and this is what happened this season.
At 13 years old, Doriane arrived in the French Junior Championship after an unusual path. She had started in Ufolep on four-stroke karts before joining the FFSA competitions in early 2016 in Minime. Her speed and determination soon allowed her to fight in the leading group of several national events.
During the preliminary tests at Le Mans, she enjoyed the performance of the FFSA Academy Junior Championship‘s Exprit /Vortex, as well as the turnkey and equitable formula, with also the rigorous coaching of the Academy.
Not at all impressed by the 19 boys on the grid, Doriane directly signed the 2nd fastest time of the first event. The continuation of the competition saw ups and downs without weakening her will to shine. Thanks to the coaching of the FFSA Academy, Doriane channeled her energy with greater regularity in her performances in the last meeting.
Her retirement in the Final at the beginning of the season cost her dear in the Championship, but she finished the year in 10th rank having twice managed to finish in the top five and once 6th.
« If I’m satisfied with Junior this year, it’s mainly because I’ve made a lot of progress », said Doriane.
« I would have achieved better results, but I was delayed several times by a lack of experience. I wanted to be ahead at all costs and had to learn to manage my races more efficiently with the help of the coaches. Otherwise, it was a real pleasure to race these powerful machines and fight against very good drivers. I’m looking forward to a 2nd season with victory as a goal ! ».
Doriane managed to be noticed in the French Junior Championship after coming out of the Minime category. As her experience grew, her confidence increased. She participated in the French OK-Junior Cup at Le Mans and is now ready to try her luck in international competition in parallel with a 2nd year in the French Junior Championship.
